Earlier this week, I had a coaching session with a client. When I asked him to complete some “action steps” (that’s the nice word for “homework”,) he said that he wasn’t sure if he had the time to complete it.
But then he caught himself.
“I’m sorry Marc, that’s an excuse. I know it … I’ll get it done.”
This was an “ah-ha” moment for me.
How many times do we make excuses for things that we know we HAVE to do, but are “too busy” to do?
I’m away on vacation now (I know, I know – I shouldn’t be working …) but I got some things done the few days before I left because I knew that they *had* to be done.
My client showed a self-awareness that struck me. He recognized that he was using excuses to delay action, and he fixed it.
This week I’ve been pushing my “Your First 5 Clients” program hard. I know that. But I know that it will help you grow your coaching business!
Still, I’ll get some people who will use excuses to delay taking action:
-> “I don’t have enough experience” (that’s who this program was made for!)
-> “I don’t have enough time” (the modules were designed to go at your own pace. Each one will take a maximum a few hours, and usually less. You spend more time watching re-runs of your favourite tv show!)
-> “I don’t have the money for it right now” (I’m offering a 50% discount until tomorrow night at midnight [promo code: marcbirthday] to make it work for you, and there’s a 30 day money-back guarantee. You get all 70+ resources for just $248.50 now)
It’s time to stop making excuses and start taking action … give the program a shot and see what it can do for your coaching business.
