I posted something in the Facebook group earlier this week that I feel really strongly about:
Success only comes after several (or numerous) failures.
Challenges, stumbles, failures, or “belly flops” … they’re part of the game, and a necessary part of the whole journey to success.
This is what I posted:

For any of you hesitating on taking the action that you know you should be doing with your coaching because of past mistakes and setbacks, I want to assure you that those are normal feelings, but encourage you to push ahead.
I’m on a good roll now with business and coaching, but I’ve had my fair share of challenges over the years, including 2 business closures (one was a really messy one), bankruptcy, divorce, lost friendships … and I’m sure if I had a dog back then, it would have been hit by a car. I was one big sad country song for awhile …
But if none of those things happened, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today, and I’d be a stressed-out, unhappy real estate agent working 100 hours a week in Atlantic Canada and wondering “is this all there is?” (nothing against real estate, I had a lot of good years – it just wasn’t my life passion)
I know it’s a cliche, but your “mess is your message”, or to quote another one: “Turn your shit into sugar!”. Nobody is perfect, there are two types of people: those who have failed, and those who have never tried anything.
I don’t look at failure like most people. When I try something, it either a) works out (if so, great!), or b) it flops (and I learn valuable lessons from it – I regroup and try again)
I would rather at least attempt a dive, do a belly flop, and then climb back on the board to keep diving until I land a perfect one. It’s a lot better than being a person sitting poolside, with sunscreen on his nose and critiquing those who have the guts to take the leap.
Come on in, the water’s warm …

Are you failing often enough? If not, that could be a sign that you’re not trying enough things.
I’m filling my next group coaching program which starts later this month, and I’ve got some spots available. I’ll work with you for 12 weeks to get your coaching business off the ground. Send me an email to Marc@NaturalBornCoaches.com if you’re interested.
