Zig Ziglar once talked about the problem with alarm clocks.
He wasn’t criticizing their purpose, but rather the word “alarm”.
Zig figured that it was a bad way to start your day by waking up with something that has such a panicky, negative name and recommended that we change the name of the device to an “opportunity clock” instead.
It sounds like a small difference, but the words that we use matter and I call my clients out if I catch them using bad ones. For example, when they say:
“Sure, I guess I’ll try it …” (As Yoda said, “Do or do not, there is no try”)
Or “We’ll see how it goes …” (that sounds wishy-washy and isn’t confident)
Once you identify the negative words and phrases that you use it’s easier to catch yourself and change course when they pop out of your mouth.
I’ve even heard of people putting rubber bands around their wrists and snapping them when they catch themselves saying bad things, so there’s an idea.
Anyways, I’m doing an auction on May 13th in my new Secret Coach Club Skool community, where the winning bid will get my main coaching program and bonuses …
Bidding starts at just $1, and everyone who bids will get something in return.
Details here:
PS: In addition to the auction, I have plans to do more in the community going forward, including exclusive trainings not available anywhere else. Here’s that link again!
