Weak words lead to weak results.
When a client tells me they’ll “give something a try”, or they’ll “see how it goes”, I stop them dead in their tracks.
Because they’re admitting defeat before they even start!
As Yoda said it: “Do or do not. There is no try.”
Here’s another bad saying:
“_____ is killing me!”
I caught myself saying this years ago about a project that was taking longer to finish than I’d hoped …
A coaching friend stopped me immediately; “Never say that. Killing? That’s a terrible way to frame it!”
She was absolutely right.
The words you use matter – the ones you use with others and those in your own head.
