If you find yourself bored, listless, or lacking motivation, find out what you’re passionate about and do it (and preferably monetize it).
I sometimes hear: “But I don’t know what I’m passionate about!”
Everyone is passionate about something …
Here’s a tip that works well with my clients – answer some questions like:
- What do you find yourself drawn to in your off-hours?
- What websites do you visit?
- What blogs do you read? What kinds of books?
- What activity do you look forward to doing all day when you’re at work?
- What thing could you talk about for hours on end with someone else? If you were trapped on a desert island, what would you bring with you? If you were told that you could do just one activity for the rest of eternity, what would it be?
I’ve heard stories of people monetizing the craziest things (things that you wouldn’t never think that someone could make a living from).
Heck, there are people making money on YouTube by recording the screen captures of them playing video games for two hours and giving commentary while playing. Millions of people watch these guys running around on video game battlefields and talking for hours … who would have thought?
If people can make money from that, think of what you can do.
So don’t worry if it seems crazy at first, odds are there are people in the world making a living from it …
