A few days before the Presidential election, I posted a bold prediction:

“Once the results are in, half of the country will be happy, and half of the country will be pissed (and deep down inside, 100% of the country will be relieved that it’s all over … although it’s never really over, the 2024 campaign begins on Wednesday morning)
It’s also going to be a total shit show afterwards and social media will become more of a toxic dumpster fire than we’ve ever seen before”

Well I guess I was partly right – although the results aren’t final yet (so both sides are hopeful that their candidate will win), social media has been a toxic dumpster fire since the polls closed.
Here’s the thing:
It’s going to become more difficult to build a successful online business in the coming weeks and months (years?) because so much oxygen is sucked up by fiery political debates and mudslinging.
(If you don’t believe me, go ahead and do a quick scroll of your social media … I’m guessing that a high percentage of posts today are political ones)
The noise and distraction will affect all entrepreneurs, regardless of their political affiliation.
That’s why it’s so important to keep your blinders on and stay the course.
Curate your friends lists to eliminate the distractions and PITA (pain in the ass) ones …
Reduce time spent in meaningless online debates with strangers who live thousands of miles away from you …
Maintain a positive mindset and high energy levels …
And finally, surround yourself with positive people who can help keep you accountable with your goals.
