Almost exactly one year ago today I sent out the following email about a potential recession:
Last week there was a discussion going on in my Facebook group around a recession hitting the US/world economies, and what that would mean for coaches.
The word ‘recession” is being thrown around a lot lately …
Some people are shaking in their boots and worrying about whether it means the end of the world for them.
Others are crossing their fingers and praying that it happens for political advantage.
And the rest, including yours truly, aren’t giving it much thought.
At the end of the day, a recession won’t kill good coaches’ businesses.
If anything, it could very well help those coaches by culling the herd and eliminating competition from the marketplace.
So is a recession going to hit?
Who knows – but I’d rather spend my time focusing on what I can control than have my eyes glued to the naysayers on the boob tube and online who are predicting the end of days.

When “2019 Marc” publicly mused about a potential recession, he had no idea what was coming down the pipe in 2020 – but my point remains the same:
It’s defeatist thinking to give up on your business and blame the global economy for everything … my business is up over last year, and another guy who hasn’t been doing too badly is Ethan Donati, who built a webinar funnel that brought in $500,000 in revenues in a three month span this year.
Last week Ethan showed how he did it in a live training, but he doesn’t do replays so a lot of people who wanted to see it didn’t.
Because of this, I asked Ethan to do a live encore and it’s happening later today at 6 pm EST.
