Earlier this week Joe Rogan signed an exclusive $100 million dollar deal to take his podcast over to Spotify.
While the reaction in my network was mostly positive, there were some Negative Nellies who bashed him as being a “sell-out” and/or greedy for doing the deal.
My opinion?
Good for him!
Let’s be honest: how many people would turn down a $100 million dollar deal … for anything?
Unfortunately if you have money you’re going to be attacked.
It’s inevitable.
It reminds me of what happened after the fire at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris last year.
After that fire, a number of wealthy folks pledged a substantial amount of money to rebuild the church … and there were howls from people all over social media that they shouldn’t donate funds towards that and should instead focus on other (“more deserving”) causes.
And my two cents about that?
People are allowed to donate to whatever they want … if they choose to burn their money in a bonfire in the backyard that’s their choice.
My suggestion to those critics was to work harder to make enough money to donate to the causes that they want to support.
They didn’t like hearing that, but I stick by it.
The longer I’m in business, the more it becomes obvious that I don’t want to work with clients who attack people who have money.
Everything I do is designed to drive away those with a poor money mindset …
