HELPING COACHES GET MORE CLIENTS SINCE 2014!

A better way to clean your Facebook house

by | Oct 30, 2019 | Blog

Hardly a day goes by without me seeing at least one post like this on Facebook:

“Hey everyone, I hit my 5000 friends limit and I’m going to be cleaning house! If you want to stay connected comment below, or I’m dropping you!”

I’ve even had days where I’ve seen five or more of the same post (they multiply like Gremlins fed after midnight).

Although some of the people posting them are doing it as an engagement hack, or as an ego boost to see how much they’re loved, I suspect that a lot of them are just frustrated by Facebook’s 5000 friends limit and not sure what else to do to make space for new connections.

Either way, I think the approach is a little silly.

Is anyone actually keeping a spreadsheet to track who comments on the post and who doesn’t?

I doubt it, since they’d have to drop the 4900 or so friends out of 5000 who didn’t comment on it.

After much experimentation, I’ve found a better way to clean up my Facebook that doesn’t rely on posts like that.

And It worked so well that I plan on doing it every six months or so.

If you’d like to get a walkthrough of how I safely purge my Facebook so you can do the same, I go over it in November’s Secret Coach Club.

It ships off to the printer tomorrow at midnight EST, and you can subscribe here:
