It’s been such a rough year for my Toronto Blue Jays that I hate to even mention them, but here we go.

A few weeks ago, the Jays made a trade with the Houston Astros for pitcher Ken Giles.

Giles is quite the character: he once told his manager to go F-himself when he was pulled from a game (classy …).

But Giles did something else that went viral online:

He punched himself in the face.

That’s right, a grown man actually punched himself in the face.

After blowing a save and being pulled from the game, Giles was so frustrated that he punched himself in the face as he was leaving the field.

He then thew a bat and did some damage in the dugout.

I can’t say that I’ve ever seen someone punch himself before, other than in Fight Club and Me, Myself and Irene, and it was strange to watch a professional athlete do it.

Although I’ve never seen a coach punch themselves in the face, it wouldn’t surprise me with the level of frustration that’s out there in Coachland.

I see it on social media …

I get emails from frustrated coaches on my list …

I even once did a Skype call with a coach who told me she cries herself to sleep most nights and that her husband asked her to not talk about her business with him anymore since it was getting him down.

I understand the frustration. Coaches are hearing a million pieces of advice from millions of people (exaggerating here, but not by much). They’re being told that they *have* to do so many things that they’re running around like chickens with their heads cut off on most days.
