BECOMING A COACH
Jim did many things as a young man, including time as a bill collector and a person who repossessed logging trucks in Northern Arkansas in his 20’s (and lived to talk about it!). When he was 26, he heard Earl Nightingale on the radio and his life changed! He became fanatical about personal development and began selling Nightingale’s programs door-to-door, which got him started in the industry.
BIGGEST OBSTACLE
Getting started, Jim had a difficulty time because he looked a lot younger than he was and lacked credibility. He also believed the he knew more than he really did, but got around this problem by learning and listening more.
GETTING NEW COACHING CLIENTS
Despite his long track record of success, Jim doesn’t rest on his laurels and looks everywhere for new clients! This habit was started decades ago when he would take advantage of his time in various airports by cold calling around that city. Now, he stays active on social media and in his community.
