Lynda McDaniel and Virginia McCullough formed “The Book Catalysts” to help others through the writing process. They stop by the podcast to talk about why people find it so difficult to finish their books, and give strategies to how coaches can finally get theirs published!
BECOMING BOOK COACHES
Lynda has written 14 books and 1200 magazine articles, along with corporate writing. Virginia started writing articles on family living and children’s literature, women’s issues and sailing. She decided to expand into the book market by co-authoring a number of medical books and then started a ghost writing business.
SOME POINTS FROM THE INTERVIEW
– Most people never get their book finished because they try to make the first draft perfect, instead of just getting their words onto the paper.
– Microbooks (ie: 50-75 pages) are great ways to get published as opposed to trying to complete a longer book.
– Find your rhythm! If you’re find yourself slowing down, try changing things up by writing at a different time or in a different place.
– Decide what you want to accomplish with your book!
