The advantage of having an online coaching business

I’m in Toronto at the moment – I flew up yesterday to catch a few ball games (Go Jays) and meet with members of The Coaching Jungle Facebook group.

I’ve been travelling more lately, and that’s one of the advantages of having an online coaching business.

I used to have a bricks and mortar business in real estate, and I could never really get away and relax because so much was dependent on me having my boots on the ground at home. And even when I did go away, I kept my phone nearby and never felt like I was truly on vacation.

But with an online business, it’s been a lot different.

I’m not saying that I don’t do any work when I’m away – when I was in Mexico recently I spent about 30 minutes a day taking care of business – but the rest of the time I wasn’t glued to my phone or laptop.

Having that freedom is why a lot of people start an online coaching business.

However, it’s not easy to get that freedom.

Often coaches don’t have enough revenue coming in to spend on travelling, or they’re so busy that they can’t escape (charging peanuts and working with a lot of clients will do that).

The solution is to structure your business so you’re working with fewer clients while making more money.

When you’re charging what you’re supposed to be charging, you won’t have to work with too many people to have a very nice business.
